Schools, colleges to reopen in Manipur
Imphal, Nov 9 (UNI): The Manipur government has decided to reopen schools and colleges from Wednesday.
Higher and Technical Education department on Tuesday said considering that the Covid-19 positive cases are considerably low for the past few months in the state and there have been conditional relaxation of public activities granted in the state, the state government has decided to allow reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutes.
All schools from Class IX onwards, undergraduate and postgraduate will be opened. The reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutes will have to follow SOP/guidelines issued by the health department in this regard.
Attendance of students must not be enforced and will be purely based on parental consent. Teaching hours will be limited to three to four hours for both online and physical classes and no cultural or sports events will be permitted.
Wearing of face masks will be mandatory along with regular hand-swashing with soap and alcohol-based hand-sanitizers and following the Covid safety guidelines issued by the Health Department. Vaccination of staff and students was encouraged.
