Shillong, Aug 28: Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai met Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt and apprised him about the lease holders’ problems in Shillong cantonment area due to the rise in calculated Standard Table of Rents (STR).
In a memorandum submitted to the union defence minister, Shullai urged the ministry to implement only 0.25 of the STR which will help reduce the burden of the lessees.

Shullai also discussed the early implementation of building bylaws in cantonment area.
