SPARK lights up Christmas for underprivileged children
Shillong, Dec 26: When the city was celebrating Christmas with fervour, SPARK kept the festival lights burning even in the darkest corners.
The NGO, which works with under-privileged children, celebrated the festival with 300 poor children in East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi.
The festival celebration was done following all healthcare protocols. The programme started with a special prayer service by the children.
Shima Modak, founder and president of SPARK, spoke on the occasion and wished all the children Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Besides, there were many fun-filled performances by the children who rocked the stage. “This day is very special for these deprived and distressed children as they get a platform to showcase their talents and skills which is no less than others,” said a statement by SPARK.
